Meet the couple from the north
We are Åsa and Johnny, a couple from Sweden who are fulfilling our long-time dream of running a small B&B and meeting people from all over the world. In 2023, we realized our dreams by buying this lovely place on the beautiful island of Lanzarote, and created Villa Estrella Polar.
Cycling, hiking, running, swimming and other activities have always been an important part of our lifestyle, and there is no better place for these than here on Lanzarote since it has a perfect climate all year around with views that never disappoint.
In 2020, Johnny was paralyzed from the waist down after a snowboarding accident. Since then, it has become apparent to us that there is a lack of long-term rehabilitation support. Finding facilities that offer help with training and the right mindset has been a challenge. However, having a background as a pro athlete, Johnny had the right mindset already. Since the accident, we have learnt a lot about how to deal with and rehabilitate an injury, and now we want to share this knowledge and experience with others looking to fight their way back.
